Routine Maintenance

Cleaning: Gently wipe the surface of the hardness tester, including the measuring head, worktable, and display, with a soft cloth or cotton swab to remove dust, oil, and impurities. Avoid using corrosive cleaning agents to prevent damage to the instrument surface.

Rust Prevention: Apply rust inhibitor to the metal parts of the hardness tester, such as the measuring head and clamps, regularly to prevent rusting. Ensure the surface of the parts is clean and dry before applying the rust inhibitor.

Calibration: Calibrate the Vickers hardness tester regularly to ensure the accuracy of measurement results. Calibration should be performed according to the instrument's instruction manual, typically at least once a year.

Periodic Maintenance

Mechanical Component Maintenance: Inspect the mechanical components of the hardness tester, such as the lead screw, guide rails, and gears, for flexibility, looseness, and wear. Lubricate and adjust as necessary.

Electrical Component Maintenance: Inspect the electrical components of the hardness tester, such as the power plug, power cord, and display, for proper functioning. Replace or repair any damaged or malfunctioning components promptly.

Sensor maintenance: Clean the hardness tester sensor regularly to prevent dust and oil from affecting it. Also, take precautions to protect the sensor from moisture and shock to avoid damage caused by moisture or vibration.
